Healthy Dog Recommendations
Puppies
Vaccinations:
Distemper ( 5 in 1, includes Parvo) – every 3 weeks until 16 weeks
Rabies - given at 12 weeks
Deworm – oral medication at time of vaccinations
Flea and tick control – A topical medication used monthly
Heartworm control – Ivermectin/pyrantel chewable given monthly
Nutrition – large breeds need large breed formula to prevent joint disease
Spay or Neuter: best between 4 and 6 months, BEFORE coming into heat
-helps keep dogs from roaming and getting lost
-prevents certain types of cancer and pyometra, a deadly infection of the uterus
-prevents unwanted pets and subsequent euthanasia of impounded animals
Adult Dogs
Yearly Vaccinations
