Heartworm Prevention

Heartworms are carried by mosquitoes. We can't protect our pets from mosquitoes, but we can prevent the heartworms from maturing in our pets' heart.

Testing Your Pet

Test your pet for heartworm disease as recommended by the American Heartworm Society. After a negative test result, start your pet on monthly Heartworm Chewables. Give once a month, year round for the best protection. If given year-round, a yearly test is not required. This is less expensive and less traumatic on your pet. If your pet is under 6 months of age, a test is not required. The test detects the presence of adult heartworms in the heart; it takes 6 months for the large larvae to reach the heart.

What You Can Do For Your Pet & Your Family

Our Heartworm Chewables also protect you pet and your family from intestinal roundworms. Dogs and cats pick these up in the environment. Deworming once a month is recommended, especially if your pet comes into contact with kids. Kids can pick up roundworms, except the worms don't go to the intestine. The worms get confused and travel through the body causing destruction as they go. According to the latest reports, approximately 14,000 kids a year in the USA will lose an eye due to roundworms.
